Message One last thing i'd like to share is about my trip home from picking up my car. I flew down with Tarik (supergoji) on friday to pick the car up and drive it back to NY. Harry picked us up from the airport and we went to the shop to check out the car. Ate some lunch etc and got on our way. About 80 miles from Sarasota, my car wouldn't boost, then it would boost, then it wouldn't. I pulled the car over and it died. We called Harry and we tried to diagnose the problem. We figured it was probably something electrical, related to the MAFs, since it was an intermittent problem, and Harry is very meticulous and the odds were small that it was a boost/vacuum leak.

We limped it over to the next exit to an advance auto parts. Harry drove 80 miles up to meet us there with 2 extra mafs (just in case), some tools, and his laptop. Now that's what i call customer service!

He plugged in his laptop and saw there was no signal coming from the MAF's. We put on the single intake setup, car idled fine. Tried again with the 2nd MAF, and it ran fine as well. The selin translator had totally stopped working. So we made the rest of the trip with a single intake and MAF. I know that this is one of the best products available for our car, and that everyone who has one of these is very happy. I also understand that these things happen from time to time and the important thing here is that Jim Selin is a stand up guy and is replacing the translator under warranty. (thanks Jim for the great customer service). We made the rest of the trip home and the car ran perfectly... Lesson learned... I will always travel with a set of sockets and a ratchet.

We got on our way again, but it was pretty evident that we were not going to get home before the Hurricane, so we decided to take a more western route home. We headed up to Z1 and hung out there for a while and picked up a few things.

We went up to the cherohala skyway and i must say, if there is one way to get break in a car, that is it. (the car motor was already 'broken in,' so i don't mean break in, in the technical sense). It was so much fun.

We left florida friday, arrived in NY 9pm sunday. Instead of getting stuck in the hurricane we went on a joyride, bullied a few BMW's, got the finger from a guy in an RV, did some quality ricer flyby's on every prius we could, and arrived after the storm and all the craziness had passed. All in all it was an awesome trip and a great way to reacquaint myself with the car. Thanks again to Tarik for making the trip with me.
